1. Who we are and what this policy covers
American Health Benefit Group L.L.C, a Florida limited liability company doing business as American Health Benefit Group (“AHBG,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), provides insurance information and assistance. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information through our website, inquiries, communications, and insurance-related services.
This website is intended for adults age 18 and older in the United States. Insurers, government marketplaces, and other organizations that process your application may provide their own privacy notices. Those notices govern their independent handling of your information. This policy does not replace a separate insurance financial privacy notice or a Notice of Privacy Practices where one is required.
2. Information we collect
Contact and inquiry information. When you request assistance, we may collect your name, mailing address, ZIP code, telephone number, email address, preferred contact method, and the questions or information you choose to provide.
Coverage and application information. If you ask us to help with an insurance application, we may need household details, ages or dates of birth, coverage preferences, current insurance, income or employment information, and eligibility documentation. Government identifiers, health information, or payment details should be provided only through an appropriate application channel when necessary for the service you request—not through a general website form, ordinary email, or SMS.
Communications and consent records. We may maintain inquiry history, correspondence, appointment details, contact preferences, SMS opt-in and opt-out records, and evidence of the authorization you give us. If a call is recorded, we provide the notice and obtain the consent required by the laws that apply.
Website information. Our hosting and website services may collect IP addresses, browser and device information, pages requested, access times, referring pages, and security or error logs. Cookies and similar technologies may support site functionality, security, and performance.
Sources. Information comes from you, an authorized representative, your interactions with our website, our contracted service providers, and insurers or enrollment systems involved in a service you request. Only provide another person's information if you have authority to do so.
3. Why we use information
We use information to answer questions; arrange appointments; help you understand coverage options; assist with applications and authorized enrollment activities; communicate about requests and services; maintain consent and compliance records; operate, secure, and improve our website; prevent fraud; and meet legal, licensing, and recordkeeping duties.
Marketing communications are sent only through channels and permissions allowed by law. Providing a telephone number, submitting an inquiry, or accepting these website terms does not by itself give consent to automated marketing calls or text messages. SMS permissions are collected separately.
We limit sensitive information to what is reasonably needed for your requested service or another lawful purpose. Where consent or a specific authorization is required, we obtain it before the relevant processing or disclosure.
4. When information is disclosed
Requested insurance services. To carry out a request or an authorization you give us, relevant application or coverage information may be provided to the insurer, marketplace, enrollment administrator, or other organization necessary to complete that request. These disclosures do not give the recipient permission to use your SMS opt-in for its own marketing.
Contracted support providers. Hosting, security, customer relationship management, appointment, communications, and customer support providers may process the minimum information needed to perform services for AHBG, under appropriate confidentiality and use restrictions.
Legal and protective purposes. We may disclose information when legally required, to respond to valid regulatory or legal process, protect rights and safety, or investigate fraud or security incidents.
Business changes. If a merger, acquisition, or business transfer involves personal information, the information remains subject to applicable law and privacy restrictions. A business transfer does not create a new party's permission to send marketing texts.
The SMS protections below control over any more general disclosure description in this policy. This policy does not authorize the sale of sensitive health information or biometric information, or disclosure of mobile information for another business's promotional use.
5. SMS privacy and mobile opt-in protection
No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes.
We may use contracted customer-support or messaging providers solely to support services for AHBG. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are excluded from all other information-sharing categories in this policy and are not disclosed to third parties for their independent use. No insurer, marketing company, or other business obtains permission to text you by receiving information for an insurance transaction.
We use your mobile number and consent record to administer the messages you requested, provide assistance, and honor opt-outs. SMS consent is specific to AHBG and the message categories you selected. A policy update does not expand that consent.
You may stop AHBG text messages by replying STOP to the number that sent the message. For program assistance, reply HELP or use the support contact information below. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. The SMS Terms in our Terms of Service explain the program.
7. Retention and security
We retain information for the time reasonably needed for its purpose, including your requested services, regulatory and insurance records, documented consent, opt-out suppression, fraud prevention, and legal claims. The period depends on the type of information, applicable retention requirements, and any litigation or regulatory hold. When information is no longer needed, it should be deleted, deidentified, or securely disposed of.
Opt-out records may be kept so we can continue to respect your request not to be contacted. A deletion request therefore may not remove the minimum suppression record needed to prevent future unwanted messages.
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the information handled. No system or transmission method can guarantee complete security. Please do not send Social Security numbers, detailed medical records, payment-card information, or other highly sensitive details through an ordinary contact form, email, or text.
8. Your choices and how to request assistance
You may request access to or correction of information, deletion where permitted, an explanation of disclosures, or a change to your contact preferences using the contact information at the bottom of this page. Tell us your state of residence and the nature of your request. You do not need to create an account.
We may verify identity and authority using information proportionate to the request, and may ask for clarification. Do not include sensitive identity documents in an initial ordinary email. If information is controlled by an insurer or marketplace, we will explain that distinction and direct you to the appropriate organization where needed.
You may unsubscribe from promotional emails using their unsubscribe link and stop SMS by replying STOP. Necessary service or legal communications may continue through other lawful channels. You do not have to consent to marketing messages to request assistance or purchase insurance.
9. California privacy disclosures
Scope. Where the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, applies, you may request access, portability, correction, or deletion; opt out of sale or sharing for cross-context advertising; limit qualifying sensitive-information use; and exercise rights without unlawful discrimination. Insurance information protected by GLBA or other laws may be exempt from particular CCPA provisions; the exemption does not eliminate other privacy protections.
Categories and purposes. The collection, source, purpose, recipient, and retention descriptions above apply to the categories handled in an interaction: identifiers and contact records; household and demographic details; coverage or transaction records; internet/device activity and approximate location; communications and consent records; employment or income details; and sensitive application information when required. These are potential service-related categories, not a statement that every visitor supplies each category.
Requests. Use the email or telephone contact below. Authorized agents may submit requests with evidence of authority. For covered access, correction, or deletion requests, we acknowledge receipt within 10 business days and respond within 45 calendar days, with a permitted additional 45 days when explained to you. Applicable exceptions may require retaining records.
Privacy choices. You may submit a “Do Not Sell or Share” or sensitive-information limit request through the contact channels below. Required opt-out requests are not subject to identity verification of the kind used for access requests. A recognized Global Privacy Control signal is an opt-out where legally required. The mobile non-sharing commitment in Section 5 applies regardless of whether the CCPA covers a particular record.
Shine the Light. California residents may request information about any qualifying disclosure of personal information for another business's direct marketing under California Civil Code Section 1798.83. We do not disclose mobile information for that purpose.
Insurance privacy. When California insurance-information laws apply, additional rights may include learning about recorded information, obtaining access or correction, and receiving an explanation of certain adverse insurance decisions. An insurer's separate notice explains rights for information it controls. Contact AHBG about information we maintain.
10. Texas privacy disclosures
Texas Data Privacy and Security Act. To the extent the Act applies, Texans may confirm processing, access and obtain a portable copy, correct or delete data, and opt out of sale, targeted advertising, or profiling used for legally significant decisions. Statutory exemptions, including for qualifying GLBA-regulated entities, HIPAA-related entities or information, and certain small businesses, may affect coverage.
Submit a request by email or telephone below. We respond to covered requests within 45 days; a justified extension of up to 45 additional days is communicated during the initial period. If a request is denied, we explain why and how to appeal. Submit an appeal through the same contact channels, identifying the original request. We respond within 60 days. If an appeal is denied, you may complain to the Texas Attorney General. We do not unlawfully discriminate for exercising rights.
Sensitive data. Required consent must be obtained before processing covered sensitive data. This policy does not authorize sale of sensitive personal data or biometric data. We do not create biometric identification templates through this website.
Insurance information. Texas Insurance Code Chapters 601 and 602 and applicable Texas Department of Insurance rules may separately protect nonpublic financial and health information. Where required, you receive the applicable insurance privacy notice and an opportunity to restrict certain nonexempt disclosures. Disclosures needed to carry out your requested transaction or otherwise permitted by law may be treated differently. Contact us about AHBG records, or the insurer about records it controls. You may contact the Texas Department of Insurance about an insurance concern.
11. Adults, dependents, and children's privacy
The website and SMS program are for people age 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children under 13 through this website. If you believe a child has submitted personal information directly, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
An adult parent, guardian, or other authorized person may provide necessary dependent information when requesting family coverage through an appropriate channel. That limited insurance purpose does not enroll a child in a marketing or SMS program.
12. Insurance and health information
Health-related information supplied for an insurance request may be subject to state insurance privacy laws, federal marketplace safeguards, GLBA, or HIPAA depending on the information and the parties involved. Ordinary website activity is not automatically protected health information under HIPAA.
This website policy is not a HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices. When a separate notice or authorization is required for an insurance or health transaction, it is provided by the responsible organization. AHBG does not use acceptance of website terms as a substitute for a required health-information authorization.
13. Policy updates
We may update this policy to reflect services, technology, or legal changes. The revised version and its update date will appear on this page. For a material change requiring additional notice or consent, we provide it before the new practice takes effect. Existing SMS consent is not transferred or expanded by an update.
